The Thabazimbi Golf Course was established in 1964 and is located in a valley on the edge of the Ben Alberts Nature Reserve and provides gorgeous panoramas of the lush green surrounding mountains.
Thabazimbi is a nine-hole, eighteen-tee course and weighs in at 3127m in length. The course is rated 36 and has a typical-of-the-area bushveld-parkland layout. One can simply turn around if you wish to play a full eighteen holes.
The course runs alongside the Rooikuilspruit river and comes into contact with it on five of the nine holes. The year 2000 saw floods devastate the humble course but since then six of the fairways and the entire allotment of greens were completely rebuilt in consultation with Peter Matkovich.
Today the course provides a wonderful challenge and provides good facilities. Visitors are always welcome.
